This page is for individuals interested in applying to further their development in leadership and advocacy for the many issues surrounding domestic violence and its prevention. From your service on the Community Youth Action Teams, you’ll know that there are issues surrounding youth that can be addressed in our organization and your input is invaluable to our understanding of that!
Our Community Youth Action Projects (CYAP) are comprised of dedicated young people who are seeking to familiarize themselves with the work that Safe Harbor does, while gaining volunteer experience. You may find yourself participating in many different events, such as fundraising, tutoring, and other activities meant to bolster the capabilities of our shelters. With a team at each of our shelters in Greenville, Oconee, and Pickens, there are many opportunities to volunteer and work with us!
Your experience working on our CYATs will be invaluable if you are wanting to join our Youth Action Board! Benefits of joining the CYAT will be acquiring volunteer hours and experience.
The Youth Action Board (YAB) goals are to give youth for the upstate of SC a voice, help increase education on domestic violence, and help plan efforts to prevent teen dating violence.
Obligations to the YAB include participating in monthly Zoom meetings to discuss objectives and an end of year leadership training seminar to further develop the skills you have gained from your service on the CYATs.
Benefits of joining the YAB would include mileage compensation, a stipend, and leadership training.
